This document presents nine future research challenges identified by the SCAPE project. These challenges, when properly addressed, would bring further improvements in areas of understating the technology evolution; preservation infrastructures for science memory and cultural heritage; and preserving and benchmarking of preservation tools and components.
Furthermore general research contributions of the SCAPE project are listed and a report on the outcomes of a workshop on Open Research Challenges in Digital Preservation organized at IPRES 2013 is provided.
